The logo, for Oprah's new network. O as in orgasm, O as in optimist, O as in omnipres-ent (okay, she's not omnipresent, but she does seem to possess the powers of a genie when it comes to transforming near everything she touches into platinum). So O for the ultimate thing that drives Lady O - OWN: As in own every damn thing in sight if possible, get the trademark, patent, subscription rights, and just own. Hence the logo: OWN -- the Oprah Winfrey Network.
Though I'm not convinced that this logo is a keeper -- two months is a universe away in TV time -- we'll see. Either way, OWN is kaledoscopic like Oprah's topics and guests, and reflects quite succinctly what the Queen of daytime has done in her time slot for the past twenty-five years and now aims to do to the medium of which she will be not just a key player, but an owner. That's our Oprah. Not for nothing is she the first black female billionaire and one of the few American, and female billionaires in our nation, if not the world. Go Opes!
